The Indian company entered the car business in 1947 when it began building a version of the iconic military Jeep for civilian consumption. Today it's a large multinational company based in India and one of the country's largest carmakers. Imported by Mahindra Australia the company offers a small range of utes and an SUV wagon. The Pik-Up is available as a ute or cab-chassis, with options of dual and single-cab, and two or four-wheel drive. The Genio cab-chassis is also available in dual and single-cab versions, with the choice of two and four-wheel drive. Along with the utes Mahindra also offers the diesel-powered XUV-500 SUV wagon, with a choice of front and all-wheel drive.
