Originally based on the military vehicle used by the American armed forces, the Hummer morphed into a series of big and brash SUVs after a takeover by General Motors in 1998. The models produced by GM were the original H1 military-based Hummer, and the smaller H2 and H3, which were based on GM platforms. Holden briefly sold the H2 and H3 Hummers here before General Motors shut the brand down in 2010.
